INTRODUCTION:
My path to spiritual illumination began at birth. My family always had issues with spirits. The severe mental and emotional discipline that my dad prescribed opened many supernatural portholes early in life. But living strictly as a practicing Jehovah’s Witness helped manage those spiritual gateways. On the other hand, spirits were constantly harassing my mother, dad, brother, and sister.
My dad was disfellowshipped from the Jehovah’s Witness religion when I was seven. When I was 21, my earthly father told me the story of what led to him cheating on my mother and his subsequent disfellowshipping. My Dad revealed that he went to a movie theatre that showed only pornography. Midway into the flick, my dad said the naked woman came down from the screen, sat in his lap, and started grinding on him. My dad never drank alcohol or did drugs. In hindsight, I now know that my dad had a run-in with one of Asmodeus’ succubus. Dad was a semi-professional-sized bodybuilder with an angelic face. My dad could have had just about any woman he wanted.
“A few months after the Hat Man struck my mom, demons appeared in our room in a green mist to my brother Rico as Robin Hood and his merry men.“
PROTECTED FROM DARK POWERS:
One night, the infamous Hat Man demon appeared over my mother one night and struck the side of her face as she slept. My dad opened his eyes, saw the Hat Man, and started screaming, “JEHOVAH, JEHOVAH!” My sons’ mother would also encounter the same Hat Man that preceded a three-week battle with the devil king Asmodeus.
Demons were always befriending my brother, Rico, According to Rico, by age six, demons even taught him how to steal and guided him to the perfect places to carry out his capers effortlessly. Rico is left-handed, and most left-handers have a natural tie to the darkness they must work to overcome. A few months after the Hat Man struck my mom, demons appeared to Rico in our room as Robin Hood and his merry men shrouded in a green mist.
Rico tried to wake me the night ‘Robin Hood’ visited but couldn’t move. Finally, something startled the demons and caused them to flee. My six-year-old sister woke up screaming, claiming she saw green balls flying past her door. After hearing my sister’s screams, my dad jumped up and said he glimpsed the green balls disappear into the basement door. Later, we learned that one of my uncles may have studied magic in the same family-owned house. My mother called the congregation Elders to the house the next day, and Rico told them about the demonic visitations. But demons had appeared to Rico long before Robin Hood and his merry men, so it wasn’t just the house. I never saw or heard any demons or spiritual activity when I was a child, only the aftermath.
AWAKENING MY SPIRITUAL JOURNEY:
My mother lost her hearing when she was five, wore a hearing aid, and knew sign language. However, my mother didn’t speak like a deaf person, and she could distinguish sounds with her hearing aid. My mother had recently graduated from community college and was hired by the Black Lung District of the Federal Government.
We were poor until my mother went to college after divorcing my dad. My mother made the dean’s list despite her handicaps and naysayers. Understandably, from a moral standpoint, Jehovah’s Witnesses frowned upon higher education. But even though my mom attended college while she was a devout JW, I wasn’t going to be able to do the same. But I wanted to be a comic book artist. So, I started studying the human body when I was fourteen, expecting to master it without attending college.
By the time I was sixteen, I had mastered drawing the human body, knew all the muscles, bones, tendons, and ligaments, and could draw them. I was offered a scholarship to the Columbus College of Art and Design through the Fort Hayes Metropolitan Education Center but turned it down due to my Jehovah’s Witness upbringing. I would have graduated high school if I had accepted that offer. But that was not Heaven’s plan. Then, at eighteen, my mother’s mother died in a house fire on Thanksgiving eve of my senior year in another tragic turn of events.
I was a senior in high school with four months left to graduate. I needed $250 to pay my senior dues and get my cap and gown. I attended night and day school to make up for the required graduation credits. My mother gave me two impossible choices: go to school or work. I chose to work so that I could move out on my own.
I had been an indentured slave from age eight until I left my mother’s house at eighteen. Nothing I did ever pleased my beautiful mother except being an acceptable Jehovah’s Witness. Since we were poor, I started working at thirteen to buy my school clothes and things like music and supplies, and I worked hard and secularly until I got my first record deal.
I had two memorable supernatural events happen when I was young. The first occurred when I tried to commit suicide at thirteen. The angels Gabriel and Uriel appeared in the emergency room, and that moment officially unlocked my spiritual gifts. I had another extraordinary supernatural occurrence while walking along some railroad tracks when I was sixteen. You can read about that event HERE in part one of this post series.
